==Work==
Her research primarily involves investigating the effects that body-based attention practices such as Tai Chi and mindfulness have on the brain and the nervous system.Her lab specifically focuses on sensory and motor cortical dynamics engaged by body-based attention and mindfulness because they see these processes as key to the effects of many contemplative practices.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=https://vivo.brown.edu/display/ck5 )〕 Kerr's work has also recently been featured in popular culture and media - she can be seen in Forbes, The New York Times, and gave a TED Talk on neural bases of the effects of mindfulness.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/03/health/research/03regimens.html?_r=0 )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.forbes.com/sites/alexknapp/2011/09/09/catherine-kerr-on-the-science-of-meditation/ )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=https://www.ted.com/tedx/events/2279 )〕 Kerr continues to receive grants for her growing body of work, and she is cited more and more each month - currently she has another NIH grant to study asthma symptom management via mindfulness training. Other notable work Kerr has been involved in includes:
* ''National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine'' (NCCAM) / NIH, "Effects of Mindfulness Meditation on Somatosensory Cortical Maps in Chronic Pain"〔
* ''Frontiers in Human Neuroscience'' 2013; 13, 7-12, "Mindfulness starts with the body: Somatosensory attention and cortical alpha modulation in mindfulness meditation"〔
